Commercial Taxes Department identified 3.26 lakh dealers as not having paid a single rupee as GST during the year 2021-2022. Similarly, about 1.94 lakh dealers who paid less than Rs. 1000 as GST for the entire year were also identified. In this connection, the Department sent mails to all those dealers, requesting them to verify their accounts and pay any tax due for all the years. An intimation was also issued through Press for wide publicity.

NEW DELHI : The Centre has released ₹86,912 crore as the goods and services tax (GST) compensation payable to states up to 31 May 2022, the finance ministry said on Tuesday.

The gross GST revenue collected in the month of May 2022 has come above ₹1.40 lakh crore, government data showed on Wednesday. The revenues for the month of May 2022 are 44% higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year of ₹97,821 crore, however, is down 16% from the previous month. GST collection in April had touched an all-time high of over ₹1.67 lakh crore.
