ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
(SHRI PANKAJ CHAUDHARY)
(a) to (c): GST rates are prescribed on the basis of the recommendations of the GST Council. The council, in its 47th meeting, held in June 2022, recommended calibration of GST rate on certain items for correcting inverted duty structure, including the wet grinder (GST rate revised to standard rate of 18%). Small suppliers having annual turnover of less than Rs 40 lakhs are exempt from GST. Further, suppliers having annual turnover of upto Rs 1.5 crore in goods can opt for composition scheme wherein GST at the rate of 1% of the total turnover is payable.
