Respected Sir,

Generally, as an association of Chartered Accountants of Surat, we are very critical in matters of policy and practice which cause hardships on the stakeholders. However, in recent tines we have come across positive actions from your department. While we criticize matters which are wrong and causing hardships, at the same tine we are also not avert to appreciation which causes good to the larger community and the nation. We are glad to express our admiration for your efforts in implementing a policy of granting new GST registrations in an expeditious manner. We are glad that the registration process has been so streamlined that registrations are received in a matter of few hours when registration tasks fall in CGST department, and which at maximum may take upto 2 days.

Obtaining new GST registration Is the first step of any businessmen/entrepreneur for starting his/her business. It is a facilitating step towards Honouring one's constitutional right under article 19(1)(g). We we glad, your department has effectively Implemented a policy which is conducive to the new businesses and which is non-invasive. This not only supports the visions of our Hon'ble Prime Minister i.e. Make in India, Ease of Doing Business, Honouring the Honest and more importantly fulfilling the standards set forth by the Citizen's Charter of CBIC i.e. Complete GST registration formalities within 2 Working days of receiving a complete application.

At this point. we also hope that peers from our tax hierarchy, our sister organisations i.e. SGST will take inspiration, advise and mentorship from your department to take your task ahead following your footsteps, honouring the honest and granting registrations in an non-invasive manner.

While the above appreciation pertains only to the initiatives taken under new GST Registrations we are hopeful that we may have opportunities in future to write such appreciation matters in other matters too like refund, assessments. adjudication. audits, recovery, etc.
