Eleven World Bank Executive Directors meet with Indian Finance Minister to discuss government policies and development.
Eleven Executive Directors (ED) of the World Bank Delegation, called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday to share their key takeaways from their visit to Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
The eleven EDs representing more than 95 countries of the world discussed different schemes and policies implemented by the government, said the Ministry of Finance.
"They appreciated the fast-paced development across all sectors enabled by transformational reforms and Private Sector participation in India's ambition of becoming a Developed country by 2047," the Ministry of Finance said in a tweet.

The Ministry further tweeted that the EDs also praised the success achieved by India on various fronts like digital technology and Startups, with a focus on the delivery of public goods, including water, electricity, road infrastructure etc.
In her discussion with the World Bank delegates, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman underlined India's focus on creating opportunities for the poor by empowering communities for Equitable Growth and stated that the reforms brought in India since 2014 have ensured decentralised planning in India.
"The EDs appreciated the clarity of the vision of the political leadership of India. They were especially appreciative of efforts like GST, NariShakti and FastTags that are in line with the vision of fast-paced development," the Finance Ministry tweeted. The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasised the leading role India is playing in Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable, and MDB Public Infrastructure (DPI).
Nirmala Sitharaman also expressed that India would be happy to share its development experience and build the capacity of countries that can benefit from India's experiences.
The 11 Executive Directors (EDs) of the World Bank Group, represented 95 countries. In their visit to the country, they visited Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Lucknow.
